11th Principle: Consent! is a consent initiative of Enthusiastic Consent Initiative, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization,.
Initiated in the southeast in 2012, 11th Principle: Consent! is a grassroots volunteer movement founded to start a conversation about the importance of Consent. This movement promotes awareness about Consent within the burn community, and over the years has expanded beyond through wide success. Provide educational resources, materials and support to other organizations, events, and movements.
My original poster and promotional material designs are still utilized at events and also available online to others as Creative Commons Licensed resources.
Awareness posters to promote a multi-model cultural awareness of Consent were created highlighting various topics such as photography, gifting, play, touch and sex.
Fitting with the burn community’s tradition of gifting and unique sense of humor, promotional materials such as pin buttons and a range of labels for barrier methods to promote Consent awareness were created.
11th Principle Consent: 2014 Mission statement:
We value the transformative experience of sensual and consensual touch, play, and interaction. We believe that consent plays a vital part in our connectivity and community. Our vision is that all parties participate in a physical encounter from a place of enthusiasm and autonomy. Consent must be explicitly granted from an individual who is clearly in a state of mind to be able to grant it.
